CTL Service Overview
Our instructional design (ID) team collaborates with faculty and subject matter experts (SMEs) in designing world-class courses and other educational opportunities built to reach and engage learners, worldwide. The team also works with other course facilitators, content editors, and teaching assistants in the pedagogical and technological aspects of delivering this education primarily through CoursePlus. Collaborating with our faculty, program and department staff, Bloomberg School administration, and the other Johns Hopkins University teaching and learning centers, our instructional designers provide professional development while keeping abreast of evidence-based evolutions in teaching and learning, including instructional technology advancements, accreditation requirements, and the changing student population. Our “recording talent” coaching, creativity and artistry, technical writing and audio editing, plus other masteries result in elegant, accessible, and meaningful communications that are an essential part of the rich and inspiring learning environment at the Bloomberg School.
The Open and Inclusive Education team supports the School's efforts to provide lifelong learning opportunities through open educational resources including massive open online courses (MOOCs), teach-outs, on-demand training, and other educational endeavors beyond the scope of traditional academic programs and certificates. Our team provides project consultations, course and activity development, and assistance with hosting on Coursera, FutureLearn, and CoursePlus.
