Emily Haagenson

Emily joined the instructional design team at CTL in the summer of 2020. Currently, she supports dozens of courses throughout the year and co-leads the development of the faculty teaching course.

Before joining the CTL ID team at BSPH, Emily was a classroom teacher. Most recently in 2019-2020, Emily was a Fulbright teaching fellow at a university in the Netherlands, and before that she taught secondary education. As a teacher she also has experience training fellow educators in classroom technologies and innovative teaching techniques. She holds an M.A. in Technology, Innovation & Pedagogy from the University of Northern Colorado and a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Colorado as well as a secondary teaching certificate. Emily’s research interests are in student engagement and active learning strategies, as well as brain-based learning design.
